Hi, I’m Cllr. Eoin Hayes
I am a Dublin City Councillor for the Kimmage-Rathmines area of Dublin.
I’m a life-long renter and aspiring homeowner. I know the housing crisis personally, and its devastating effect on families and young people across the city, and it’s why I am standing for election to Dáil Éireann.
I live locally with my partner and currently work as a consultant helping small businesses to grow. I’m a graduate of London Business School, and I’m passionate about creating economic opportunities for everyone.
Irish politics needs to be more courageous
I believe there is a better way of leading the country to solve its most pressing problems, and our people deserve a standard of life consistent with any other European country – great public services, affordable childcare and education, proper well-maintained modern infrastructure, thriving indigenous economy, and a safe city.
We must end auction politics to deliver long term solutions
We need a better form of government where we plan and invest for the long term – not just electoral cycles and ensure efficient use of taxpayer money to deliver value for money.
We need a sense of urgency to deliver real solutions
In politics, we speak mostly about problems, but I have been struck – in the thousands of people I’ve spoken with – by the hopefulness in our country.
I believe Ireland can be the place we deserve if we build it. That will take time and sacrifice; but it will also take electing politicians that do the hard work of understanding our problems and have a sense of urgency to deliver real solutions.
